Carpentry is an essential knowledge of the following occupations:

Handyman: Handymen perform various maintenance and repair activities for buildings, grounds and other facilities. They repair and renovate structures and components, fences, gates and roofs, assemble furniture and perform plumbing and electrical activities. They check heating and ventilation systems, air quality and humidity in the building.

Carpentry is optional for these occupations. This means knowing this knowledge may be an asset for career advancement if you are in one of these occupations.

Building construction worker: Building construction workers prepare and maintain building construction activities on construction sites. They perform preparation and clean-up work in order to assist specialised construction workers.
