Description

Dewatering technicians install and operate pumps, spares, pipe ranges, and vacuum dewatering systems to collect and remove liquids and chemicals.

The duties of a dewatering technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Repair and maintenance of bore dewatering lines, valves and equipment.
  • Installation and removal of dewatering pumps and infrastructure
  • Daily operational checks of bore dewatering pumps
  • Demonstrating a strong safety focus with the ability to work in a team environment

Minimum qualifications

No formal educational credential is required to work as a dewatering technician. However, many employers prefer candidates with at least a high school diploma, a vocational certificate, or an experience in mechanical fitting, pipe fitting, plumbing, or a related field. On-the-job training is provided by the employers.

A valid driver’s license is often required.
