Process engineering technicians typically work in a manufacturing environment. They may be required to work on the production floor, which can be loud and physically demanding. They may also be required to wear personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, earplugs, and steel-toed boots. The work may be done in shifts, and overtime may be required during peak production periods.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and an associate’s degree in a relevant field is preferred to work as a process engineering technician, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills
